Around 300 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer in Switzerland each year. Thanks to medical advances, four out of five children and adolescents with cancer are now able to survive the disease. Despite this, one child still dies from cancer in this country virtually every week. Clinical research is necessary in order to improve their chances of recovery. This provides young cancer patients in Switzerland with access to the world’s most advanced treatment methods as part of global trials.

However, clinical research is complex and very expensive. Around 60 percent of costs are funded through donations. To continue giving Swiss children with cancer the best possible chances of survival, more financial resources are urgently required. Through its new awareness campaign, Childhood Cancer Switzerland is raising awareness of this important issue and calling for donations for clinical research.
