May 3 Swissmedic has accepted the trial GeDDiS: A prospective randomised controlled phase III trial of gemcitabine and docetaxel compared with doxorubicin as first line treatment in previously untreated advanced unresectable or metastatic soft tissue sarcomas.The trial was opened for accrual at the first center, the Kantonsspital St.Gallen.

May 2 The trial SAKK 41/08: Neoadjuvant radiotherapy combined with capecitabine and sorafenib in patients with advanced, K-ras mutated rectal cancer. A multicentre phase I/II trial was closed for accrural as of 2.5.2013.

May 2 The trial SAKK 22/99 Randomized phase III trial of Herceptin® followed by chemotherapy plus Herceptin® versus the combination of Herceptin® and chemotherapy as palliative treatment in patients with HER2-overexpressing advanced/metastatic breast cancer was closed for accrural as of 02.05.2013.

April 29 Swissmedic has accepted the trial SAKK 22/10 / UNICANCER UC-0140/1207 A randomized phase II trial of pertuzumab in combination with trastuzumab with or without chemotherapy, both followed by T-DM1 in case of progression, in patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer . A multicenter, randomized phase III trial was closed for accrual on December 14.

December 3 The trial SAKK 16/00 Preoperative chemoradiotherapy vs. chemotherapy alone in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with mediastinal lymph node metastases (stage IIIA, N2): A randomized prospective phase III trial was prematurely closed for accrual on December 3.
