SAKK and Janssen-Cilag AG present the SAKK/Dr. Paul Janssen Fellowship, worth CHF 30,000, to young researchers every year. Its purpose is to give young doctors the opportunity to spend up to four months at a renowned research institute abroad where they can develop their knowledge of clinical cancer research and acquire the tools they need to conduct trials successfully.
With the SAKK/Janssen Fellowship, Dr. Matyas Ecsedi will undertake clinical training in the area of cellular immunotherapy using genetically modified T-cells at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC) in Seattle, USA. The award was presented by Prof. Dr. med. Viviane Hess, Vice-President of SAKK, and Dr. med. Holger Bartz, Director of Medical Affairs & Compliance at Janssen Alpine, at a ceremony held during the SAKK semi-annual meeting on 27 June.
