The SAKK/Astellas GU-Oncology Award 2018 goes to Dr. David Christian Müller from University Hospital Basel. The prize of CHF 30,000 is being awarded to Dr. Müller for his exceptional scientific paper on “Donor-derived, metastatic urothelial cancer after kidney transplantation associated with a potentially oncogenic BK polyomavirus”.  The aim of the SAKK/Astellas GU-Oncology Award is to promote preclinical and clinical cancer research in Switzerland, and it is awarded in recognition of an outstanding academic or clinical achievement that features in a scientific publication. The focus should be on tangible improvements in the treatment of urogenital cancers.
