The SAKK/Astellas GU-Oncology Award 2019 goes to Dr. Laurent Derré from the University Hospital Lausanne CHUV. The prize of CHF 30’000 is being awarded to Dr. Derré for his exceptional scientific paper on “Conventional and PD-L1-expressing Regulatory T Cells are Enriched during BCG Therapy and may Limit its Efficacy”. 

The aim of the SAKK/Astellas GU-Oncology Award is to promote preclinical and clinical cancer research in Switzerland, and it is awarded in recognition of an outstanding academic or clinical achievement that features in a scientific publication. The focus should be on tangible improvements in the treatment of urogenital cancers.
