In 2023, Prof. Dr. Christian Fankhauser won the SAKK/Gilead Expanding Horizons in Oncology Award with his project "prEPAred," an app that promotes the training of uro-oncologists through interactive courses.

Thanks to the support of the CHF 40,000 SAKK/Gilead Expanding Horizons in Oncology Award, the "Entrustable Professional Activities" (EPA) project was further tested and implemented. The Swiss Institute for Medical Education (SIWF) has now officially introduced EPAs as a new tool for specialist training and assessment in continuing education. Several videos with guidance and instructions for professional societies have been created.

An initial original publication has been accepted in the renowned journal "European Urology Focus."
